How to reduce walkouts at a walk-in barbershop

A client who walks in, sees a full bench and cannot tell how long it will be often leaves. The fix is to make the wait visible and portable: let them join from their phone, see their place, and come back when it is nearly their turn.

Why walk-ins leave

  • They cannot see how long the wait is
  • Waiting means standing in your doorway
  • They are not sure they will not be skipped

What to change

  • Put your QR on the door, so a client can join before they decide to leave
  • Let them wait anywhere: their phone shows their place and an estimated wait
  • Notify them when it is nearly their turn
  • Call next from one board, so the order is fair and visible to the team

Getting them back next time

A stamp every visit and an automatic email to clients who have not been back in a while keep regulars regular. Both are part of a paid plan; the plan is shown below.
